celebrating our 20th release, glasgows dave clark returns to optimo trax as sparky. he was responsible for the third release on the label as luma which featured the club smash -john broadwood- and recently had another big club hit with signals- on numbers. we are delighted to welcome him back in what is a contunuation of a relationship that stretches back further than we care to remember. all four tracks here are certified dancefloor winners, from the reach for the lasers, kickless things fall apart through the synth rhapsodies of black swan and my prophet, climaxing in the jacking seven daggers. all killer, no filler is often a trite cliche in these blurbs but is entirely true in the case of this ep.

molecule is the type of guy that does things his own way. and for his first album that will be released on may 20th, he chose to bring his whole music equipment aboard of a ship on which he stayed for 34 days. for the record store day, he is coming up with an insight of his work’s result, and even some songs of those that he has already experimented in live…a powerful and deep sound that could only be created with such an experience, in the middle of the sea. on b-side chloe and torb are his guest for 2 efficient remixes of “rockall” and “hébrides”.

with four original tracks from chris carrier, this new ep is based around the original detroit vibe, with a hint of acid. the tracks all take their titles from famous nuclear devices, giving the music a foreboding overtone. rds-1 was the first weapon developed by the russians during the arms race of the early 20th century. the track is deep, driving and morose yet full of life. trinity was the codename of the very first nuclear test in 1945, this track is a shivering acid beast, minimal and absorbing. bwr 3 takes its name from one of the reactors at the doomed fukushima plant, subtle elements of funk flow through this restrained number. lastly comes chicago pile 1, the worlds first ever nuclear reactor, and a track that embodies the ominous possibilities of such an invention.
